Credits 0.5This class allows students to build their foundational mathematical skills based on their special education IEP math goals, such as arithmetic operations using rational numbers; area, perimeter, and volume of geometric figures, congruence and similarity, angle relationships, the Pythagorean theorem, the rectangular coordinate system, sets and logic, ratio and proportion, estimation, formulas, solving and graphing simple equations and inequalities.

Credits 0.5Students will work on improving their basic math skills, as well as their fluency of these skills. Although students will be exposed to a diverse amount of content based on need, the skills of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers will be emphasized. Students will begin working with decimal numbers, with the use of money being a key area of instruction. Students will also begin to gain an understanding of the basics of working with fractions.
